When fashion designer Jenni Kayne decided to open her first home store, she picked a location in Montecito, an area with the same classic yet relaxed vibe reflected in her women's clothing collections. Comfortably situated in this lush, wealthy neighborhood just south of downtown Santa Barbara, Jenni Kayne Home houses two levels of chic sophistication in a building Kayne herself designed (with the help of well-known architect Jeff Allsbrook).

On the ground level, floor-to-ceiling reclaimed shelves hold home goods ranging from linens to gourmet foods to woven rope dog leashes. All of the merchandise here is carefully selected by Kayne to match the classic, minimalist aesthetic of her women's clothing line. You'll find ceramics by Caleb Siemon sharing space with specialty laundry soaps and bronze bowls by sculptor Alma Allen.
Jenni Kayne Home is a great place to find a spectacular gift for a stylish friend or that gorgeous but informal place setting you've been dreaming of but have never been able to find. Until now.
A short trek up the stairs takes you into a space almost entirely dedicated to children's goods. Flocks of colorful butterflies swarm across the walls and ceiling above racks of adorable duds for babies and toddlers. Jenni Kayne does not design these pieces herself; rather, she curates her selection from the collections of established children's designers like Nico Nico and Bonpoint.
The second floor of Jenni Kayne Home is also where you'll find all of the fun stuff. Discover charming birdhouses and wooden toys and baskets full of irresistible stick horses. Even the dressing room up here is marvelous - a custom-built tent crafted out of driftwood and draped with white fabric.
Once you've outfitted your home and your little ones in style, don't forget about yourself! Trot next door to Kayne's fashion boutique to find luxe yet simple dresses and stylish yet comfortable flats. Yes, it's a fabulous life the Jenni Kayne woman leads.
"The Jenni Kayne woman could be 25 or 60. She's a woman who loves classic clothes that are easy and wearable – things you can throw on the floor and sit on the floor in," Jenni Kayne says.
Jenni Kayne Home is open seven days a week. Enjoy free parking in front of the shop - especially convenient if you plan on visiting other nearby stores and restaurants, like Wendy Foster and Via Vai.
