This lovely little cheese shop is located right downtown, but it's just out of the way enough to be kind of a local secret.
A recent expansion has allowed owners Kathryn and Michael Graham to add on a bakery and cafe (and a large, sunny patio), making it the perfect place to grab breakfast or lunch when you're in town. They have a rather delicious happy hour menu, too.

Stop in at C'est Cheese for a light breakfast or heartier fare. Try their morning grilled cheese, served with marmalade, ham and a poached egg.
Breakfast is served Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Coffee and pastries are available all day.
Don't miss: The Kouign-amann (pronounced kween amun). This pastry may not look like much, but you'll be surprised and delighted by it's alternately flaky and moist, salty and sweet interior. It's always the first to sell out every morning!
This place is bustling at lunch with patrons from nearby offices. A varied menu (soups, sandwiches and salads) makes it an easy choice for parties with different tastes and appetites.
Lunch is served daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Don't miss: The truffle grilled cheese with a side of tomato soup. This familiar fare with amped up flavors is a great cure for anything that ails you.
During happy hour, you can choose from a selection of grilled cheeses, small bites and cheese and charcuterie plates. Wine and beer is available by the glass, or you can buy a bottle in the attached shop and drink it on-site.
Happy hour is served Monday through Saturday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Don't miss: Their sweet and spicy nuts. We're serious; they're addictive!

On the Go
But what if you want to eat some cheese in the comfort of your own home? Perhaps in your pajamas, with a bottle of Champagne while watching Breakfast at Tiffany's? (Who are we to judge?)
Don't fret, pet!
In addition to the delectable goodies served at the C'est Cheese Cafe, there are oodles of cheeses sold by the pound, round and slice in the cheese shop and marketplace (where you will also find savory sausages and great bottles of wine).
While you're in the neighborhood, scope out the Pickle Room, Julienne and Warbler Records, all just a block or less away. Paseo Nuevo shopping mall and the Santa Barbara Historical Museum are close by, too!
