A new Los Agaves location opened in Santa Barbara this summer, bringing a delicious taste of Mexico to a quiet (but up-and-coming) part of uptown.
Owner Carlos Luna opened his first location on Milpas Street in the heart of Santa Barbara's East Side in 2008. This resaturant quickly became popular with the locals, even garnering an award for "Best Mexican Restaurant in Santa Barbara" in early 2013. So it's no surprise that Los Agaves (the original) soon began to see lines out the door.

When whispers of a second location began circling around the rumor mill, Santa Barbarans rejoiced. The new Los Agaves - also known as 'Dos Agaves' - opened up on upper De La Vina Street in June, bringing the fresh flavors of made-to-order cooking to upper De La Vina Street. Uptown Los Agaves features the exact same menu as the original and boasts the addition of outdoor seating.
Visit Los Agaves when you're in the mood for Mexican food that goes above and beyond standard fare. Savory moles, delicious soups, fresh ceviches and tantalizing seafood entrees are par for the course here.
Almost everything is made fresh in house, including the many salsas at the extensive salsa bar. Meals are inexpensive, with entrees ranging between $8 and $15, and every table gets a basket of chips.
Both Los Agaves locations are open for lunch and dinner seven days a week. They also serve breakfast on the weekends. The De La Vina location has free parking behind the building, as well as on the street.
