In July 2012, Julienne – one of Santa Barbara’s favorite fine dining establishments – announced it was finally opening its doors for lunch, much to the delight of taste buds everywhere. Previously a dinner-only spot, Julienne is an intimate restaurant in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara that focuses on serving expertly crafted cuisine with a focus on sustainability. The food at Julienne is fresh and local. . . and tasty as a result.

Like their dinner menu, the lunch menu changes daily, depending on what's in season. A typical meal might start with their take on a Caesar salad, featuring the flavors of white anchovies, micro onions and garlic croutons. Follow this with one of their savory sandwich offerings, perhaps a BLT with housemade bacon or a grilled vegetable sandwich bursting with produce fresh from the local farmers markets.
Heartier appetites will be sated with dishes like Julienne’s fried chicken, accompanied by a warm biscuit, melted cheese, gravy and a fried egg. Which came first: the chicken or the egg? The answer is finally completely up to you!
Prices are reasonable, starting out at under $10 for salads and appetizers and rising to $15 or $16 for more complex entrees. Lunch is served Tuesday through Friday from 11AM to 2PM. Reservations are recommended for larger parties.
