What can you do in Santa Barbara after nightfall that's fun, cheap and appropriate for all ages?
Give up? We almost did, too. And then we discovered this gem: West Wind Drive-In.
At West Wind, you can catch a cinematic double feature for the price of a matinee! So fill your comfiest car with your favorite people, and head out to Goleta to enjoy a good, old-fashioned night at the drive-in movies.

West Wind shows only first-run movies and, except for the occasional special event, every showing is a double feature.
Once you arrive at West Wind, you can pay for your tickets and then pull up and find a spot. Tickets are just $7.50 for adults, $1 for children ages five to 11 and free for kids under five.
Hungry? There's a snack bar onsite that sells these goodies:
- Nathan's Famous all-beef hot dogs
- Cheeseburgers
- Orville Redenbacher popcorn
- Nachos
- Nestlé Movie candy
- Cotton candy
You can also get fountain drinks and slushies! West Wind also has very clean restrooms, so you don't have to worry about bathroom breaks.
The box office and concession stand are cash only, but there's an ATM in the snack bar if you forget to check your wallet before you go.

Trucks and camper vans can be extra fun at the drive-in. Load up on pillows and blankets, and park them backwards for the best view.
West Wind Drive-In is open seven days a week, rain or shine. Showtimes and featured films change frequently.
For the most current lineup and times, check their website. You can also sign up for their mailing list to get drive-in and snack bar coupons.
On Sundays during the day, the parking lot of the drive-in transforms into a public market where you can buy produce, toys, home goods and more at a discount – kind of like a flea market or swap meet.
You can also reserve the drive-in during the day to host a special event, like a birthday party or reunion. There's tons of space and free parking!
If you're staying in Goleta or taking some time to check out the area before the movie and happen to get hungry, we can help with that, too! Check out our list of Goleta's best restaurants to find something that will satisfy every appetite.
Let us know if you have a great night at the movies!
