TV or radio fanatics, this is the place for you. The building serves as the broadcast and production hub for Canada's oldest national television and radio network (the CBC). The $350-million centre was opened in 1993. It houses offices and production studios from which nightly newscasts and Hockey Night in Canada broadcasts originate. And with the building's large main-floor atrium open to the public, you never know what international figure or NHL hockey star you might see roaming the halls. The CBC Museum is free for visitors. Even if you didn't grow up watching Mr. Dressup (Canada's most iconic children's entertainer and an off-screen friend of Mr. Rogers), the kid in you will love his prop-filled Tickle Trunk and the show's treehouse set on display in the museum. A viewing room next to the theatre shows old CBC programming.
