This New Orleans-inspired performance venue in Vancouver is livening up Granville Street's music scene one live act at a time. If you've ever traveled through the southern states, you may be familiar with piano bars. There's something about the carefree attitude that embodies a southern piano bar that encourages bar-goers to let their hair down and have just as much fun as the musicians are having; Fanclub epitomizes this.
Step inside and take a moment to admire the towering ceilings, richly stained wood throughout, wrought iron railings and red brick that make you feel comfortable and willing to stay a while. Sink your teeth into their house-smoked meats and make a dent into the bourbon, whiskey and scotch selection. They have plenty of liquid libations to choose from, including wine on tap, plenty of beer options and enough hard liquor to get a party started. The food menu is inspired by southern fare and has plenty of carnivorous options while not forgetting about vegetarians.
The music changes daily and all sorts of genres take the stage ranging from blues to funk to soul. There are two levels of prime seating inside Fanclub, making it a great place for groups. The mezzanine dance floor has seen its fair share of action with people breaking out their best moves to the electronic DJ. Tickets can be purchased on Fanclub's website or at the door.
This new venue in Granville Street's entertainment district is a very welcome addition and already has a large following of groupies.
