Over the last couple of months, you may have noticed a low-flying yellow helicopter in cities across Canada that appeared to have a large white globe on the nose of the chopper and wondered what it was doing. Well, it's all a part of a new attraction that's coming to Vancouver in Spring 2013. FlyOver Canada will be calling the old IMAX Theatre in Canada Place home in the coming months and guests are in for a treat.

Canada is a vast country, and for many, a cross country trip may not be in the cards. However, FlyOver Canada is going to change this and give audiences a bird's eye view of some of Canada's most beautiful scenery and popular attractions. Sixty riders will be hoisted up into their moveable seats and take in the sites on the large IMAX screen, complete with wind and mist to add to the experience.

Filming these spectacular shots is Sherpas Cinema, while Whistler's own Dave Mossop is directing. If you've been to Disney, you may recognize this concept from the Soaring Over California ride. Not only is the concept very similar, but they've hired Disney's Creative Director Rick Rothschild to assist in the project. It's safe to say that this will definitely be one of downtown Vancouver's busiest attractions.
