Throughout the Vancouver area, Chef David Hawksworth is synonymous with perfection, attention to detail and innovation, making it no shock to those in the industry when his eponymous restaurant cleaned up at this year's Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards. Situated inside the glamorous Rosewood Hotel Georgia, the restaurant itself evokes a certain class that remains chic, yet cozy, while providing patrons with a meal to remember. They're open for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, making an exquisite meal possible any time of day. If you don't have time to sit down and enjoy a full meal, their lounge shakes up crafted cocktails and delicious bar snacks.
Among the 41 awards given out at the ceremony, Hawkworth received a total of five: Restaurant of the Year, Chef of the Year, Best New Restaurant, Best New Design, Best Upscale Restaurant.
If that isn't enough to convince you to head to Hawksworth to splurge on a fabulous meal, perhaps you may want to start off small and take a seat in the neighboring cafe, where Chef David Hawksworth remains at the helm and has created a casual menu that's a tasty mid-day pick-me-up that won't break the bank. The confit albacore tuna sandwich is a must order and is filled with fresh local albacore seared tuna, celeriac rémoulade, fine herbes, crispy romaine, and is nestled between two crispy and buttery slices of bread. After devouring such a wondrous concoction, the idea of missing out on an even more fabulous meal at Hawksworth may just seem blasphemous.
