In an era where buying something new is as readily available as water, it's easy to get lost amongst the steals and deals of mass produced goods. Old Faithful Shop restores our belief in buying quality, unique items that are both timeless in their style and longevity. They like to think of themselves as "an updated version of a general store that would have existed here over 100 years ago."
Walking into the store is a treat in itself; all natural Balsam fur incense burns, making you feel as though you're in a cozy wooden cabin far from a bustling Vancouver. It isn't that hard of a stretch because the interior is filled with cool cottage-like accents; the large wooden canoe is a star of the show. You can find things like cactus plants, stationary, table linens, books, magazines and plenty of home decor items, all of which will be a welcome addition to any room. There's even a little area of edible items, such as honey, jams and all sorts of cutely packaged goodies. In the summer time, they even held a little farmers market inside, selling local baked goods and fresh produce. Old Faithful has such a rustic feel to it and fits in perfectly in Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, Gastown. Next time you're looking for a gift for that person that's impossible to buy, stop by Old Faithful. It will also be a treat for you as enjoy the overall experience; there's nothing else like it in Vancouver.
