The Keefer Bar has been featured in enRoute's article, "The Great Canadian Bar-Hop", amongst 19 other impressive bars in Canada. Located in Vancouver's Chinatown, The Keefer Bar is no longer the hidden gem that it used to be. People flock here on any given night to indulge in the liquid prescriptions, so the menu aptly refers to them as.
You could say that The Keefer is a healthy mix of New York cool, Vancouver's diversity and Chinatown's wonderfully exotic ingredients. Step inside the dimly lit bar, pull up a seat and admire the creative cocktails.
After you sip on Part Time Lovers, made from gin, Cynar, Giffard Muroise, mint, and Violette liqueur spray, it will be time to move onto Cloud Nine. Made from Zubrowka vodka, Italian vermouth, healthy tea syrup, lemon tincture and cloudy apple juice spray, you may feel Lost in Chinatown, which incidentally is another beautifully crafted drink on their menu.
It's easy to make a bit of a dent in the menu because each drink goes down smoothly. You've been warned! Though this is a bar, the food menu is not to be looked over. The Peking duck sliders garnished with cucumber, cilantro, spiced pineapple and plum sauce will hit the spot.
The Keefer Bar is a fun place to go on any given night, but Thursday night brings in sultry burlesque dancers for their Sweet Soul Burlesque evening. The place fills up quickly, so it doesn't hurt to get their early. The Keefer Bar will open your palate to new adventures and will likely become your go-to place when the doctor's ordered a well crafted drink.
