Vibrant salads at Tractor steal the show — Photo courtesy of Tractor FoodsWest 4th Avenue in Vancouver's Kitsilano is home to the newest restaurant on the street, Tractor Foods, and there is already a feeding frenzy amongst locals. Owners Steve and Meghan Clarke wanted to create something that they needed as busy parents with a demanding schedule – and that something was a restaurant that served quick, convenient and tasty dishes that would nourish both them and their children. With Executive Chef Ryan Mah at the helm, diners are in good hands.
On the menu, you'll find a mouthwatering selection of salads bursting with flavor like the jicama, watercress, grapefruit and orange segments salad with a honey lime dressing; or the roasted red and yellow beets and green beans, topped with pistachios and goat’s milk feta, and delicately drizzled with a walnut vinaigrette. There's a handful of grilled proteins, sandwiches (half or whole) and soups that make a wonderful addition to any of the salads. The stews on Tractor's menu tend to be more hearty, but larger appetites may want to enjoy one of their side dishes like the mashed potatoes and kale.
All items are made in small batches so freshness is guaranteed, and the cafeteria-style service allows you to mix and match dishes to create the meal that will satisfy. Tractor's menu has a focus on using as many local and seasonal ingredients as possible with options for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets.
