The company is made up of three theaters around the city: the Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage, Granville Island Stage and Revue Stage. The group also tours throughout British Columbia.
The theater was founded as a private club for artists, musicians and actors in 1958 and became the Arts Club Theatre in 1964. Since then, the company has grown tremendously, and the productions attract over a quarter of a million people each year!

With the Arts Club Theatre, you're always in for a treat, as they produce everything from musicals and comedies to classics and new works. Some popular and familiar shows that have graced the stages are Les Misérables, Avenue Q, Mary Poppins, August: Osage County and Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story, to name just a few. In fact, that's just the tip of the iceberg.
The Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage can be found at Granville St and W. 12th Ave. and seats 650 people. Getting here from downtown Vancouver is a short bus ride, and buses run regularly.
If you're driving, street parking is available, though it does fill up quickly, so it's best to get there well in advance of the play.
The Granville Island Stage calls Granville Island home and seats 440 people. Take a water taxi, travel by bus, drive or even walk from downtown Vancouver. There's also a ton of parking on Granville Island, but it's still advisable to give yourself plenty of time to park and get to the theater.
The Revue Stage is right by Granville Island's Public Market, and it's much more intimate than the other two theaters, offering an intimate 198 seats.
If you live in and around Vancouver, season ticket passes are available and range in price, making it quite affordable to see a couple of shows throughout the year.
Showtimes vary, but evening shows usually start between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Matinees are also available. Find ticket and pricing information at Arts Club Theatre Company's website.
An added bonus is that there are plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance; you can enjoy drinks, dinner or dessert before or after the show.
Looking for a deal? Your ticket into a show also gives you 15% off food at Granville Island's Backstage Lounge on the day of the show. Other restaurants that have partnered with Arts Club Theatre are Siena, Edible Canada, Sandbar, Dockside and more. Just show your ticket to receive 15% off your food on the day of the performance at any of those participating restaurants.
Vancouver is home to many talented actors, musicians and artists, and catching a show is a lovely way to see these guys and gals in action, and to support the local arts community.
