The building that's home to Woo Lounge and Sai Woo restaurant is rich in history and can be dated back to the 1920s. It was called Sai Woo Chop Suey back in those days and is called Sai Woo as a tribute to the space's history. When veteran restauranteur, Salli Pateman, took over the space, it was an abandoned building and with a lot of hard work, she brought it back to life. Joining Pateman are Dave Truscott on the bar and Keev Mah as head chef in the kitchen.
Downstairs in Woo Lounge there's an exclusive cocktail and bar menu that was created just for this space. If you're feeling peckish, tuck into dishes like duck tacos, crispy chicken drumettes with black peppercorn glaze and a yogurt-lime dip, jerk chicken with fried rice, and a tres leche cake with citrus meringue and mandarins. Chef Mah using local ingredients on his globally-inspired menu so don't be surprised if you see new dishes from time-to-time.
