If you're passionate about what's on your plate, being poured into your glass, and the environment in which you're enjoying both, then you and Melody Fury, owner of Vancouver Food Tour, have quite a few things in common. There are plenty of tours around Vancouver that take you around the city to take in all the sights, but this has been the first tour of its kind for food lovers in Vancouver.

10Best had the chance to sit down with Melody and ask her why she decided to start Vancouver Food Tours, and she told us:
"As a Vancouver food writer and photographer, I received a lot of requests for restaurant recommendations during the Winter Olympics in 2010. I realized that there was only so much I could tell someone about where to dine, especially when it came to what to order and why it's special. So, I decided to take people to the restaurants that I love best, and I thought, what better way to do it than to arrange food tours? At each hand-selected stop, we prepare the food and beverage pairings so guests don't have to worry about what to order. Our culinary guides passionately share his or her knowledge on food, history, and Vancouver culture."
When Vancouver Food Tours first started, Melody was taking guests along for each tour, but since it has grown immensely, she has hired more guides that are just as passionate as she is. Most tours generally tend to take 14 guests per tour, while larger groups may be accommodated by contacting them in advance.
Vancouver Food Tour is a welcome addition to our list of things to do in Vancouver and you're essentially killing two birds with one stone; taking a tour, while satiating your palate.
There are four tours to choose from:
Gastown Tasting Tour: Think tapas, cocktails, charcuterie and cool haunts.
Craft Beer N' Bites Tour: Beer and Bites, need we say more? You will not be sipping Budweiser on this tour though.
Salt Spring Island Food Tour: A little trip to the Gulf Islands to explore the fresh culinary scene there.
Modern Chic Chinatown Tour: Modern flavors on traditional classics in one of Vancouver's most cultural neighborhoods.
