The aspens are ablaze with vibrant yellow, red and orange hues, and there's an ever so noticeable crispness to the air, when the Colorado Front Range succumbs to autumn once more. 'Tis the season for decorative gourds, pumpkin-flavored-everything, costumes and caramel candies.
Happy to oblige is Rock Creek Farm, situated just a few miles from Boulder, Colo., in pastoral and quaint Broomfield. This local favorite is your holiday go-to for pumpkins, entertainment and delicious treats.

With over 100 acres of pumpkins at Rock Creek Farm, you can pick your way through tangled vines and stare at the Rocky Mountains as you hunt for the perfect pumpkin. All pumpkins, no matter how big or small, are just six dollars.
Just before Halloween, local schools take trips to the pumpkin patch, so you'll often see school buses unloading dozens of kiddos. But never fear: the pumpkin patch is so large that you'll never feel crowded.
And, because some of the pumpkins may require you to hack away at their stalks, Rock Creek Farm provides you with a free carving knife.

Corn Maze Fun
A variety of corn mazes offers hours, and miles, of entertainment for the kiddos. Children five and under get in free, while admission for ages six through 11 is only $5. Adults can play, too, for a small fee.
The corn mazes are also open after dark, where children can play flashlight tag and explore.
This magical play area boasts farm animals, a bouncy house and a hay bale maze. Snacks can also be purchased.
Nearby, the pay booths allow you to cash-out with the farm's friendly staff, but not before purchasing caramel apples, pumpkin bread or more decorative pumpkins for your home.
