Hip, chic and upbeat – that's the aesthetic at one of the newest Denver hotels, Aloft Denver Downtown.

There's no mistaking what the Aloft brand is going for with its thoroughly contemporary design, fun colors, uber-modern furnishings and myriad ways to connect guests in social spaces and activities. Aloft Denver Downtown obviously oozes appeal for Millennials and others used to technological and social connectiveness.

But it's also a good choice for anyone traveling solo, on business or with their families, and it's a smart choice for travelers who support sound environmental practices, a focus of the city of Denver and its residents. The hotel uses energy-efficient LED bulbs as well as low-flow faucets throughout the property, encouraging guests to choose green options.

Another major element connecting the hotel to its surroundings is the dynamic commissioned artwork by Denver muralist Daniel Chavez, which is installed throughout the building. Check out the mural featuring the big blue bear, Denver's public-art-turned-city-symbol, then walk out the door of the hotel and admire the actual big blue bear just a block away.

For those who have to stay connected via devices and Wi-Fi, there's high-speed 100Mbps complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, which means you won't end up with those annoying daily Internet fees added to your bill.

The hotel is located in the heart of the city, within walking distance from the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Colorado Convention Center, Larimer Square, a ton of restaurants and shops and the 16th Street Mall.

For visitors who'd rather ride than walk on occasion, the 16th Street Mall's free MallRide is a block away and an easy hop-on, hop-off way to access LoDo, Union Station, Coors Field, the Denver Art Museum and History Colorado Center.

The free shuttle also takes riders to the city's bus hub and light-rail system, both by Union Station, meaning guests can get to pretty much anywhere they want to go in Denver using public transportation.

Inside, Aloft Denver Downtown features bright, airy guest rooms outfitted with the brand's signature, super comfortable Aloft bed, along with a 42-inch LCD TV and a plug-and-play station for electronics.

Hotel amenities include an indoor pool and a 24-hour fitness center, and Re:fuel is a 24/7 grab-and-go snack station stocked with healthy bites and other delights as well as free coffee and tea.

In keeping with the connected theme, Aloft has several spaces where guests can relax and kick back or mix and mingle. Cozy seating areas in the Re:mix lounge are perfect for reading or conversing, and there's a pool table, too. Those sitting in Re:mix can enjoy a speciality cocktail or other drink from the W XYZ Bar.

On Thursday nights, W XYZ Bar is exactly where you want to be. That's when local up-and-coming bands play live at the bar, drawing Denver residents as well as hotel guests.

W XYZ also features hand-selected beats daily, so whether your stay includes a Thursday or not, Aloft brings on the music – and just the right vibe – for downtown Denver.
