Washington, D.C. has long been the home of the proverbial power suit, what with all the high-powered world leaders, politicians, lobbyists and corporate executives who inhabit the region. Now, those lovers of fine men's clothing will have a new choice. Custom clothier Michael Andrews Bespoke of New York City is opening his second studio at 1604 17th Street NW.

Bespoke is known for his slim-fit suits and has won a multitude of honors, including being named to many of the "Best of" lists in NYC's premier publications. Besides suits, Bespoke also specializes in shirts, sports coats, trousers, overcoats and even tuxedos. The clothing is made to a man's precise measurements as talented stylists guide customers through thousands of choices in fabrics, thread colors, buttons and the like.

One delightful bonus of a visit to a Michael Andrews Bespoke studio is the lavish 8-foot long bar, fully stocked with top shelf liquors and mixers. The bar takes a pleasant visit and turns it into something even more special, encouraging relationships and lingering before and after appointments.

Bespoke comes to custom clothing via a circuitous route. He was once a successful lawyer, shopping for and wearing the very type of suits he now creates. But a desire to design and develop high end suits won out. He left law, took courses at the famed NYC institution – the Fashion Institute of Technology – and the rest is history.
