Named for the House Resolution that declared jazz an American treasure, HR-57 is a music center non-profit dedicated to the preservation of jazz and blues in the district. Its a cultural arts venue that attracts amateur and professional jazz musicians as well as jazz aficionados, fans and students. The center offers lectures, workshops, lessons and weekly performances. Performances are typically held Friday and Saturday nights from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Jam sessions are held Wednesdays and Thursdays starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are sold as singles or in groups of two or four. HR-57 also serves lunch from El Caribe on Saturdays and Sundays between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. METRO: Union Station
