Fort Lauderdale: this is the place where the world comes to play. And for three days, it’s all yours. Let’s go. . .
Where better to stay than right on the beach? This is where the fun begins. There was a time when Fort Lauderdale Beach was known primarily for being a spring break destination. But, oh, has that all changed in the last few years.

Today, this beachfront paradise is home to many of the world’s top hotels and resorts, as well as many lesser-known (but equally as welcoming and comfortable) accommodations.
For these three days, you’ll be checking into the W Fort Lauderdale, one of the beach's most recent and most spectacular hotel properties. They really know how to cater to their guests. You will be amazed at your sophisticated suite that overlooks the blue Atlantic Ocean, with its silhouetted sailboats and beachgoers soaking up the sun.
This will be a day just for you. You work hard and have had a long flight or drive here, so now it's time to be pampered and rejuvenated. Relax and leave it up to the professionals. You will find many world-class spas throughout the city that offer amazing amenities where you can relax, decompress and rejuvenate and get ready for your three days ahead.
But since you're staying here at the W, check into the Bliss Spa. This amazing facility will help relaxation-craving guests unwind like never before. They call themselves a facial and massage mecca, and you will never want to leave.

Don't be like some well-meaning tourists and get so caught up in the various events and shopping and sightseeing that you miss the obvious: the beach! This is what people think of first and foremost when they consider Fort Lauderdale, and as long as it's so close, plan much of your second day in the city for fun on the sand.
Do a little exploring. While Fort Lauderdale Beach is the biggest name and certainly a spectacular beach to spend the day, there are beaches up and down the coast that may interest you as well. Try the John U. Lloyd State Park just south in Dania Beach - with its beautiful natural setting in the middle of an urban center. Or go for Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, located just north of Fort Lauderdale, with its great beach, walk-to restaurants and fishing pier.
This day will be a day of sun tanning, swimming, snorkeling and lots of photos to show for it.
Your third and final day will be a great one. Fort Lauderdale and Broward County are proud of the arts and entertainment venues that thrive here, so pencil in today to take in a great concert or a great show, or maybe both World-class live theater, music concerts and sporting events are offered year-round and keep visitors and locals well entertained.

Fort Lauderdale is especially proud of the spectacular Broward Center for the Performing Arts. This amazing complex, conveniently located downtown, welcomes top-name entertainers, incredible live theater and even local community events. Check out their website as you plan your visit, and get tickets now.
Also, in the nearby city of Sunrise, is the impressive BankAtlantic Center, just steps from the world-renown mega shopping center Sawgrass Mills Mall. This massive center is the home to the Florida Panthers hockey team and sees such events as the annual stop of the American Idol tour. It even hosted a political rally for the presidential candidate Barack Obama.
There is always a line-up of great entertainers and events that keep this place humming, so jot down a few and have fun!
