Located off of Federal Highway at the A1A turn-off, Jaxson's is an old-fashioned ice cream parlour and a must-visit. Having been in business for over fifty years, Jaxson's was started by Monroe Udell, who used decades-old recipes for ice cream and food preparations.
Their out-of-this-world ice cream and tantalizing toppings are prepared daily on the premises using the freshest dairy cream, berries, and nuts. Jaxson's sodas, sundaes and other ice cream treats are topped with real whipped cream. Besides the endless ice cream options, Jaxson's offers a delightful menu of great salads, burgers, hot dogs, wraps, chicken and cold sandwiches.
This playful and eclectic restaurant has been featured on The Food Network's Top 5 "Cool Quenchers" and will be featured on an episode of "Unwrapped". It is also home to one of the nation's largest collections of rural American memorabilia. Take your time to look at this world-class automobile license plate collection from every state, which has been put together by Udell himself, and browse through the fascinating gift shop when you walk in and take home a t-shirt or other souvenir. This is definitely a part of the Fort Lauderdale experience.
So get ready for the sheer delight of Jaxon's and see what the locals have been talking about!
