City Tavern

One of Fort Myers' best kept secrets is City Tavern. Located in the River District downtown, this place could be described as a "dive bar," but it's always buzzing with people having a good time. The Tavern is the kind of place where they're always coming up with innovative new ways to take shots – such as the "shotski" which is literally a ski out of which multiple people can take shots. There is live music every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night and great drink specials all throughout the week. The Tavern's acclaimed happy hour is every day until 8 p.m., though most days have other specials as well. Tuesday nights there are 2-for-1 specials from 8 p.m. to close. On Wednesday and Thursday nights ladies drink free, and on Sunday happy hour lasts all day. With so many great specials, City Tavern is a great spot to have a few inexpensive drinks and make friends while playing pool or dancing the night away to a local band.
