Boutique Clothing — Photo courtesy of WanderlustKey West has a knack for attracting roaming gypsies and free spirits, and the Wanderlust clothing store caters to this carefree crowd. The owner, Casey Crockett, was once an architect by trade but became discontent with life spent in an office and began traveling the world. She now takes what she has seen and experienced on the road and incorporates these concepts into her women’s clothing and jewelry – which she hand creates using precious stones.
]Wanderlust opened in July 2010 to provide locally-inspired items and designer clothing lines including Synergy, which uses organic cottons to create lightweight, breathable blouses and tops that are adept for Florida’s tropical climate. Accessorize your outfit with belts, scarves, shoes, and hats, plus the store also sells an assortment of rain boots that can make trampling through puddles seem fashionable.Bohemian Dress at Wanderlust — Photo courtesy of Wanderlust
Imaginative local art including water color paintings, photography, and handmade industrial tiles make for souvenirs that your friends and family will appreciate more than a coffee mug or a magnet. The store fits right in with the vibe of Petronia Street, and looks like a pink shed from the outside, but like the other businesses springing up in this neighborhood, inside it’s full of treasures. If you find yourself on the waiting list at Blue Heaven or Santiago’s Bodega, pop into Wanderlust and support the local artisans.
