The name, LIQUID, says it all. Ocean Key Resort’s newly revitalized pool, bar and lounge in Key West flows with tropical cocktails, fruit-infused waters, shimmering pools and stunning views of the azure sea. The fresh look mixes vibrant blue fabrics throughout the lounges, pillows and draperies. Understated details like driftwood votives, sand-filled candles and distressed planking at the bar add a nautical feel. The overall effect? The pool seems to melt into the Atlantic at its feet.

The intimate bar encourages making new friends, while sipping on their signature cocktail, the Limonada Azul (a frozen blend of grape vodka, fresh squeezed lemon juice, simple syrup and blue curacao). Watch as the seasoned bartender, April, puts some muscle into muddling limes for the tastiest Mojito on the island. She’ll pop in a blue-and-white striped straw for that extra “I’m on vacation” flair.

Whether you’re lounging in a cabana or floating in the pool, you’ll appreciate being pampered with frozen fruit skewers and Coco Mango misted towels. The self-serve water station offers a variety of refreshing flavors like cucumber and strawberry.

Feeling peckish? Executive Chef Scott Maurer has created a lunch menu of light gourmet fare, featuring the island’s fresh seafood. For an afternoon nosh, you can delve into a selection of raw oysters, peel and eat Key West pink shrimp and stone crab claws. Other favorites include traditional conch fritters with lime mustard, fish and shrimp ceviche and the perfect fish sandwich.

Nestled between the Key West Harbor and Mallory Square, Ocean Key Resort affords stellar sunset views, especially from the perch at LIQUID. Bask in the glow of the setting sun with the cool breeze in your hair as an array of boats drift past. Paired with the swaying palms, they create frame-worthy photo-ops, while the booming cannon from the Schooner Western Union punctuates the end of the show.

While LIQUID is exclusively for guests of Ocean Key Resort & Spa, it’s available for private reception rentals. Your party can enjoy Cuban tapas like mojo pork sliders, ham croquettes and empanadas, as well as butler passed hors d’oeuvres. Pair the Veuve Clicquot Champagne station with live guitar music, and your soiree is destined to be a hit.

Finish the evening upstairs on the veranda at the elegant Hot Tin Roof restaurant. Their Pan-Latin menu offers small and large plates with dishes like Key lime fish ceviche, paella and caramelized grouper. For dessert, indulge in the delicious Key lime pie in a cashew graham cracker crust. You'll love the dusting of cinnamon in the shape of a palm tree on the plate. Paradise found.
