Nailtini Specializes in Manicures and Martinis

A new salon puts a twist on traditional treatments

Martinis and manicures may sound like something from "Sex and the City," but New York has a shortage of palm trees and heavenly-blue water. After a complete renovation of an existing nail salon, Nailtini opened in December 2011 on Duval Street, but added a twist to the traditional primping: complimentary cocktails with salon treatments. For the ladies, it makes a perfect girl’s getaway when the guys are out fishing, but that’s not to say the guys can’t enjoy the salon as well. In fact, the first-time men's pedicures are quite popular and lead to many returning customers. An afternoon at NailtiniAn afternoon at Nailtini — Photo courtesy of Nailtini

Services include acrylic sets and CND shellacs, in addition to facials, and eyebrow and bikini waxing. For $30 you can try their signature manicure (complete with a martini), and after getting your nails done melt tensions away with a Swedish or dip-tissue massage.

The salon offers a wide range of nail colors to choose from as well as the drinks selections: mimosas, mojitos, lemon drops, green apple martinis, and champagne. Stopping by at the last minute is not a problem with the accommodating staff, but parking can be a bit tricky at times so biking to the salon is always a good idea. Although it is off to a great start, Nailtini is continuing to develop, and will soon add a hair and makeup specialist to complete the full salon experience.
