Key West’s newest sports bar opened its doors in February 2012, and with football season well underway, patrons are now able to see what the owners had in mind when they installed 22 televisions with six different sound zones. It’s the next best thing to being at the game, only JDL’s Big Ten also offers finger food and pub grub, trivia, two happy hours each day and free wireless internet access. After a long day of fishing, bar goers can bring in the catch of the day and the staff will cook it for them so they won’t have to miss a minute of the game.Football fans flock to JDL's Big Ten — Photo courtesy of nighthree
The new watering hole also offers an interesting addition to the traditional sports bar: Skybox Suites. These private rooms feature 60-inch televisions, surround sound, an individual server and can accommodate up to 12 people. They are ideal for birthdays, bachelor parties or just large groups of friends enjoying the game.
JDL’s menu consists of the typical bar food with appetizers like loaded nachos, wings, conch and corn fritters, and potato skins. Entrees run the gamut with fresh salads, roasted chicken, meatloaf, Reuben and classic Cuban sandwiches, Wisconsin beer brats and linguini Alfredo. The draft beer selection includes six American brews and one international beer (Stella Artois).
With two daily happy hours that knock a dollar off every drink from 3-6pm and 11 pm until the bar closes, only one question remains: are you ready for some football?
