Best Pet-Friendly Hotels in Key West

Our Local Experts' Top Pet-Friendly B&B's, Hotels, and Guesthouses in Key West

For a nation of pet-lovers, it certainly can be difficult to find a landlord what allows pets - let alone a place to stay when you’re traveling. Luckily, Key West knows that pets are part of the family, and the island is very pet-friendly. Restaurants like Blue Heaven, nine-one-five, Schooner Wharf, and Pepe’s all allow animals to join owners as they dine. However, a recent city ordinance may require restaurants to obtain a permit to do so. When Fido needs to get some exercise, head over to Higgs Beach or the Key West Dog Park, and when you’re looking for a place to bunker down, several hotels on the island are pet-friendly.

While some of the luxury hotels charge hefty deposit fees, there are a handful of hotels that welcome pets at no extra charge. Be aware that many will have guests sign a damage waiver and require that animals remain on a leash, and limitations on the size and number of furry friends permitted are fairly common. Hotels that welcome man’s best friend run the gamut – from high-end resorts to budget inns, charming B&B’s and guesthouses. Our local editors’ have outlined the 10 best lodging choices on the island for you and your pet.
