The newly renovated Donald Ross golf course at the Biltmore Hotel Coral Gables is the brainchild of golf course architect, Brian Silva. Working from original Donald Ross drawings, Silva extended the par-71 course to 7100 yards and added new bunkers and new Bermuda grass to the fairways, tees and greens. Improvements to the short-game practice and driving range complete the picture. Doglegs figure prominently here to increase the challenge of the course.
The golf course revitalization is part of a $30 million project, which includes a redesign of the national historic landmark hotel's 270 guest rooms, corridors, main lobby, along with the spa and fitness club
Italian, Moorish, and Spanish architectural details figure prominently at the Biltmore Coral Gables - a member of the Leading Hotels of the World program favored by world leaders and celebrities since 1926. The 150 acres of tropical landscape that contain one of the largest hotel pools in the USA once overseen by swim champion, Johnny Weissmuller are all within an easy drive of Miami Beach and downtown Miami.
Golfers and other guests have a range of quality dining options ranging from the 19th hole patio sports bar to the poolside lounge up to the local favorites: the picturesque Italian cuisine restaurant, Fontana is very European sitting alongside a fountain in the courtyard. The award-winning Palme d'Or veers offers French food while an on-site cooking school hosts an array of hands-on cooking classes.
