Nicaraguan cuisine can be found throughout the Magic City thanks to the various fritangas that have popped up over the years. However, Nicaraguan fine dining is a rarer thing to find, with only a very small handful of Nicaraguan restaurants in existence in the county. One such place is El Novillo, a charming restaurant located inside a somewhat hectic shopping plaza in central Miami-Dade. Walking inside, you'll immediately realize this isn't your average restautrant, with elaborate interior decor that makes it seem as though you are dining in an al fresco courtyard in Central America. The food is absolutely divine, the highlight being their churrasco in chimichurri sauce. Every dish is served with a number of sides, including gallo pinto (rice and beans) and maduros (sweet plantains). Live entertainment is available on weekends. Parking is free and readily available.
