Headed to the Downtown Disney hotel corridor for a little R&R? There’s a whole new place to B.
The B Resort & Spa, that is.
Now open in the place where the Royal Plaza once stood, the B Resort & Spa located in the Walt Disney World Resort (just outside Orlando) bellies up to notable Lake Buena Vista neighbors, including Hilton and Wyndham. But the hotel looks to make a name for itself, with a combination of sleek, contemporary design and amenities that skew both family- and couples-friendly.

Case in point: its zero-entry pool and soon-to-open spa: B Indulged by AVEDA. In fact, parents looking to decompress into vacation mode at accelerated speeds might consider trading out lifeguard duties in order to enjoy a massage, facial or perhaps a bit of makeover-style pampering before a night out in the shadow of Cinderella’s Castle.
“Our selections have been carefully designed for ladies, gentlemen, teens and children, and our professional staff can recommend the precise treatment to fulfill the unique needs of each guest,” explains Beny Koe, the property’s spa director. “Our guests [will be able to] create their own customized spa journey by combining several different techniques into one treatment, allowing them to enjoy each of their favorite techniques in one customized experience.”

With 394 rooms (a number of which have been outfitted with fun, kid-centric bunk beds), the primary focus at B is sustainability and simplicity – with affordable sumptuousness to boot. Technologically speaking, guests will find little lacking: the property boasts informational touch screens in the lobby, digital concierge service, free Wi-Fi throughout its guestrooms, public and meeting space, along with USB and HDMI plug-ins. But its more practical amenities – comfy beds and a saucy, soon-to-open restaurant – may end up foremost in guests’ minds.
At press time, American Q – a partnership with China Grill Management – was approaching diner-readiness.
“We are very excited to have such a unique restaurant here at our hotel and one that sets us apart from our neighbors in the Walt Disney community,” says Jerry Parquette, director of food and beverage for B Resort & Spa. “The American Q experience is a fun approach to barbecue from across the country, utilizing Florida-grown items and techniques for smoking that set a very high bar for us.”
The hotel’s strolling-distance location to Downtown Disney is not only ideal for walking off an indulgent dinner. Ongoing construction for what will soon be the expanded, rebranded Disney Springs has made parking a tad more challenging for the time being – though the property will offer shuttle service to all Disney parks as well as concierge-like services for its restaurants and golf courses.
