Gideon's Bakehouse

This immersive bake shop, really more a Gothic nook at Orlando's wonderful East End Market, is the place where confectionary fantasies come true. Seriously. Gideon's is best known for their cookies – almost unfair, really, because their cake slices are insane (even the plain-jane slices that aren't enrobed in chocolate...yes, we're being sarcastic) – which are more or less a half-pound of fat, cheery cherubs' dreams in an edible format. Enthusiastic consumers of the noble cacao bean might find themselves pacing outside the market each morning in an attempt to get their hands on a triple chocolate chip, but rest assured, other "regular" flavors at Gideon's are just as sinful, from the peanut butter crisp to the slaver-worthy pistachio toffee dark chocolate.
