There are several dining options in the West Palm Beach area that definitely know how to do lunch.

If you want to have lunch on Palm Beach but don’t want to pay dinner prices, check out Café Boulud and Ta-boo for great specials midday. The valet parking at Café Boulud is helpful or you can head over to Testa’s on Palm Beach where there is always plenty of free parking. Taking a break from shopping on Worth Avenue? You should head over to Pizza al Fresco and spend some time savoring some Italian food and wines.

Over on West Palm Beach, Paris Bakery and Café is perfect for when you've had enough of the typical American deli wraps and sandwiches. The crepes are sure to be a nice treat on your lunch break. For a quick dining experience, stop in at The Chickpea or Relish. Both places have a great menu that make dining in or getting lunch to go a breeze.

Palm Beach

For generations, this Worth Avenue hotspot has been a destination of choice, attended by both celebrities and political figures. Marked by a tower of bougainvillea climbing its faade, Ta-bo has an intimate island elegance, thanks to paddle fans, brown treillage, dark wicker furniture, and abstract floral fabrics. Fresh seafood and steaks are perennially popular, but you'll also find pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, and such main course salads as grilled chicken and pear, cold poached salmon, and Maine lobster and chicken. The bar scene is also prominent at the restaurant, especially as you wait for a table.

Located in the middle of Clematis Street in West Palm Beach, The Chickpea Grill & Hummus Bar is a great place to go for Mediterranean cuisine, especially if you strive to eat local and organic. The whole menu is prepared fresh, with even the pitas brought in daily from a local bakery. One glance at the menu and you'll see that they take the guess work out of knowing which selections are gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, organic and lactose free. Open Monday through Saturday from 11 AM to 4:30PM, Chickpea lets you build your own pita, bowl, or platter for dine in or take out. The prices can't be beat when you know the quality of food that you are receiving and once you see how big the servings sizes are- you'll agree even more.

Capt. Charlie's Reef Grill

The location isn't prime, lines can be long, and the decor isn't jaw-dropping, but the food, by all accounts, is amazing. If you don't have the fortitude to wait for a table, it's only your loss. Seafood of all sorts monopolizes the menu, and it's prepared in both traditional and unconventional ways, inspired by recipes from the world over. Appetizers and entrees are both sizeable, so if you're a big eater, you'll probably be challenged; if you're a light eater, prepare for a doggy bag. Grilled fish, tasty shrimp, luscious pastas, and terrific crab cakes provide indication of the fare, but the temptations on the menu will have you agonizing over what's best to order. Don't worry – everything's good.

Buccan operates The Sandwich Shop, just around the corner from the restaurant. Both hot and cold sandwiches are on the menu, in addition to salads. The bread is made in-house, and other pastries are available. Orders can be made in advance for both pickup and delivery. It's a sweet preview for what you'll enjoy at the main restaurant.
