You can often tell a restaurant’s reputation by its lines. At Da Kine Diego’s, you’ll be hard-pressed to not have to wait for one of this beachy shack's famous burritos. Da Kine is a longstanding Space Coast celebrity, going on celebrating nearly two decades at its location right on A1A in Satellite Beach, Fla. It’s a local favorite, an authentic surfer hangout and a delight among visitors, too, for its quirky atmosphere.
Da Kine Diego's has the best burritos on the Space Coast. The eatery is best known for its Insane Burritos, which are sure to be the biggest burritos you’ve ever seen. We’re talking twice the size of Chipotle burritos. Maybe more.

A massive mountain of rice, veggies, beans and, if desired, meat is wrapped inside a tortilla sleeping bag. One Insane Burrito is big enough to feed you throughout the entire day and beyond. You better hope your hotel has a mini-fridge, because you will want to save your Insane Burrito to nom on throughout the week. The Insane Burritos are so amazing that they actually come with a little instructional card on how to eat them.
Da Kine Diego's is surprisingly inexpensive, too, for the amount of food you’ll get. Watch the surfer staff prepare it to your specifications on the other side of the small window.
This shack, located in Satellite Beach across the street from the beach, is tiny and not flashy. The benches and picnic tables are covered with stickers, signatures, colorful marker doodles and graffiti. Many patrons take their food to go or eat it on the nearby beach, but the outdoor dining area is a fun place to make new friends.
Sit underneath the palm trees inside the tiki hut, and listen to reggae music. You can even come in your swimming suit, if you want. No shoes, no shirt, no one will notice.
As relaxed as the atmosphere is, Da Kine Diego's is known for its cleanliness, though. In fact, it has scored a rating of "Perfect" from health inspectors in the past, a pretty impressive feat.
If you don’t want to gorge on the Insane Burrito, a Mini B is a smaller version, although don’t be fooled by the name; it’s hardly mini. Other great bets include the Diego Salad, the Barney Bowls (Try the Original Barney or Carne Barney.) or the Gringo Star.
Even though the lines are long, the food here is prepared quickly (within a few minutes max), and it’s consistently delicious. The bigger burritos can sometimes be a bit rice-heavy, so don’t miss out on the hot sauces. Da Kine Diego's offers a wide selection of fresh salsas that are totally worth the flames. If you like spice, order your burrito “wrapped in gold.” For other delicious flavors, try the spiced sour cream, homemade guac and spicy carrots.
Da Kine Diego's is one of the most interesting places to eat on the Space Coast. It's a great place to fill up on delicious food if you’re on a budget - or if you want to save your money for Disney World, not too far down the street.
