Enjoy excellent restaurants and explore some of your favorite chain stores at the newly renovated Hammock Landing Mall in West Melbourne, Fla.
Hammock Landing, at the intersection of Interstate 95 and Palm Bay Road, is the newest shopping complex on the Space Coast, and if you're traveling through, it’s worth a visit to pick up some new clothes, makeup, home decor and a delicious meal at a restaurant with a familiar menu. Although the Space Coast is full of top-notch, locally owned restaurants, sometimes it’s more comfortable and less risky to go with what you already know you like.

Hammock Landing is not one of those old-school, enclosed shopping malls from the early '90s. It takes advantage of the Space Coast’s warm weather (which ranges from the 70s to the 90s year-round), as a 750,000-square-foot, hip and vibrant open-air collection of stores and restaurants.
This shopping district has more than 28 stores spread out over more than 100 acres. Browse the windows alongside the Florida sunshine, and pop inside to cool off.
Looking for a new outfit to wear to the beach or an area bar? At Hammock Landing, you can find trendy but low-priced stores, such as Target, Kohl's, Marshall’s, Ross Dress for Less, Shoe Carnival and rue21.
If your lipstick melted on the beach, replace it at Ulta Beauty. Looking for a housewarming gift for a friend you are visiting? Michael’s Arts and Crafts has plenty of trinkets and goodies, or visit hhgregg’s for electronics and home appliances. You can even pick up treats for your four-legged friends here at Petco, and get your hair cut and colored at Great Clips.
Top off your visit with a meal at Longhorn Steakhouse, Buffalo Wild Wings, Panera Bread or Moe’s Southwest Grill. Then cool off from the Florida heat - especially in July, the hottest month of the year - with a fruit blend at Planet Smoothie or some frozen yogurt at Menchie’s.
Menchie's is a family-friendly dessert haven that serves up 14 different ever-changing flavors of frozen yogurt, with a buffet of candy toppings, fruit and sauces to choose from. Kids love to create their own concoction, and the ability to control your own portions means you can control the degree of your splurge - and the cost.
Of course, if you are on a budget, a cup of Menchie's and an afternoon of window-shopping and people watching is enough entertainment, in and of itself. Finish your day at Hammock Landing at a movie in the Carmike Cinemas. The Carmike Cinemas there opened in the summer of 2014 with 11 high-definition screens, including Brevard County’s newest IMAX screen.
Hammock Landing is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
