There’s a new four-star hotel in downtown Tampa. The former Hyatt Regency was sold last November and is in the process of becoming the Hilton Tampa Downtown. New owners are looking to make $13 million in improvements over the next several months and to compete with other luxury downtown properties like the Marriott Waterside and the Embassy Suites.

Renovations currently underway include a transformation of the first-floor lobby, upgrades to guest and meeting rooms and the addition of a lobby Starbucks. The lobby and the name change are expected to be finalized in early August, although visitors to Tampa can already book rooms through the Hilton website and other online booking sites by searching for "Hilton Tampa Downtown."
The highlights of this 521-room hotel include a lovely roof-top pool area, perfect for catching some rays. There is also a fitness room and indoor whirlpool. Rooms are modern and tastefully furnished. Dining and drink options are provided by the newly renovated 211 Lounge and Restaurant, featuring sophisticated décor and tropical atmosphere.
Be the first to take a look at Tampa’s newest luxury hotel. Conveniently located at 221 Tampa Street in the heart of downtown Tampa, the hotel is close to the Convention Center, the Straz Center for the Performing Arts and several other cultural attractions.
