From the family-friendly to the adults-only, visitors can take their pick of tricks and treats.
Busch Gardens is unleashing 13 terrifying evils including “The Surgeon” and “Voodoo Queen” at their annual Howl-O-Scream event. The Evils stalk their unsuspecting prey across the park’s 225 acres and through their eight new haunted houses that take you from the sinister depths of “The Basement” to horrifying heights in “The Experiment.” Howl-O-Scream provides adult-oriented thrills and the opportunity to ride their adrenaline-inducing coasters in the dark. The event runs Thursday through Saturday nights throughout October.
Tampa’s haunted historic district, Ybor City, celebrates with Fantasma Fest, a week-long celebration of ghoulish good times. Beginning on Thursday, October 24th with Fantasma Feast, a celebration of Ybor’s favorite flavors, events continue throughout the week and include a Little Monster’s Promenade, Zombie Walk and Crawl, and the Witchcraft Beer and Music Fest. The week culminates with the freakishly fantastic Fantasma Fest Halloween Ball on October 31st.
Not to be left out of Tampa’s fright-night celebrations, Lowry Park Zoo presents ZooBoo. This family-friendly event pays homage to the spooky side of New Orleans with haunted attractions that offer a range of “scare factors” so parents can choose what’s appropriate for their kids. Also featured are Halloween-themed games and rides. ZooBoo takes place on Friday and Saturday nights throughout October.
