The Nicest Places to Eat in Nice

As the largest and most vibrant city in the French Riviera, Nice is also home to a cosmopolitan restaurant scene. The pedestrian old town, Vieux Nice, is the heart and soul of the town and boasts some excellent dining choices from the sit down spots listed here to a dizzying array of food stalls for those on a budget or in a hurry (many are worth dining at for flavor alone). One great Old Nice choice is Le Safari, which does consistently good Italian influenced comfort food like pizza and pasta dishes. You can sit outside when the weather is nice and watch life pass your by.  Beyond the old town, however, head to the streets around the swank Port of Nice, where the vacationing yachts park in summer, for some of the city's most trendy eats including Jan Restaurant. One of the hottest spots in town, Jan, is named after its South African chef owner Jan Jan Hendrick van der Westhuizen, and focuses on modern French fare that gets an A+ for flavor and fusion. And then there are the grand hotels of Nice, like the Hotel Negrosco, home to the delicious Le Chantecler, which is famed for its Nicose cooking.
