Formerly the chef at the 3-star L'Ambroisie, Akihiro Horikoshi opened this tiny restaurant in the mostly residential streets of spanning the expanse between Invalides and Blvd. Saint-Germain a couple of years ago. It has been a favored spot since he opened his doors. The unadorned walls and light tones offer a Buddhist, zen-like dining atmosphere. Seating is limited and the lunch crowd loyal, so you'll have better luck with dinner reservations.
Chef Aki dedicated his menu at his place-of-his-own exclusively to seafood. He prepares his dishes according to the freshest he can get from the market and his inspirations which he allows the seasons to dictate. A favorite here is the Roast Lobster in Crustacean Juice and his Apple Tarte is one that has even passed French muster. Prices are a bit steep and portions a tad small, but I guess this is, sometimes, the price of excellence in the capital.
