While the quality of Chinese – and particularly Vietnamese food – is generally rather high and consistent across Paris (give or take the occasional dump, of course), it is surprisingly difficult to find a good Lebanese, i.e. one that neither thinks he is running a show in Las Vegas (with belly dancers on weekend nights) or a robber's den (charging you 20 for a couple of meatballs and a dishful of hummus).
Once you have found a Lebanese restaurant that serves high-quality, authentic Levantine food in a pleasant atmosphere at reasonable prices, it is therefore worth coming back even if it means that you have to cross half the city to get there – which is a good thing because that is exactly what you will have to do to get to the Oriental on Rue de l'Ourcq (Metro Crimee) in the 19th arrondissement.
