Hammock's Trading Company is a seafood restaurant that is located on the north side of Atlanta in Sandy Springs. Taking over a space that has been many different restaurants, the folks at Hammock's have taken care to make to give it a slightly beach-y theme. The chef, and one of the partners, at Hammock's Trading Company is William Sigley. William has a fantastic pedigree having worked at some of the top restaurants in Las Vegas and having trained under Wolfgang Puck.
Cocktails are all exceptional and reasonably priced. There are the old standbys like a Sezerac or the Moscow Mule, but the Hammock's mixologist has thrown in a few other new specialties like the La Neige Russe, made with St. Germain, white grape juice, vodka and Elderflower.
To start, get the barbecue oysters and smoked trout salad; with grapes, green beans and almonds, it's quite a unique dish. An entree of truffle-topped scallops with butternut squash risotto is also superb, and a side of jalapeno cornbread, sweet with honey, is a nice addition. The spicy flounder with clams and bacon will certainly satisfy a hearty appetite.
Small plates are only around $6 and entrees average about $15 each. There are plenty of gluten-free and vegetarian options on the menu as well.
