Savannah’s favorite burger joint has found a new niche as one of the best late-night spots to grab a drink and watch the big game. B&D Burgers, a staple on Broughton Street since 2001, recently opened a new location a few blocks away on Congress Street just across from City Market. While the menu has remained the same, the real treat at the new B&D is just outside the restaurant.

B&D’s open-air patio, located on the site of a former parking lot, features tables with umbrellas and sleek couches, a cornhole set for those who feel like being active and plenty of space to mingle. But the showpiece of the 4,000-square-foot space is an enormous projection screen on the wall of the neighboring building. Undoubtedly one of the biggest screens in the city, B&D’s outdoor TV draws crowds for all the big games and for other popular televised events.

Inside, B&D features two levels, each with ample seating and its own fully stocked bar. The menu has an array of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and hot dogs, along with a mind-blowing–and creative–selection of burgers. From the Southern-inspired Wormsloe with pimento cheese and fried green tomatoes to the Tatnall, seasoned with teriyaki sauce and topped with melted cheddar, pineapple slices and tempura-battered onion rings, you’re sure to find the perfect burger to accompany your libations.
