Savannah’s Moon River Brewing Company has been a favorite among locals and visitors since it opened its doors in 1999. The Historic District brewpub is drawing even more patrons now thanks to the addition of a 5,400-square-foot Beer Garden.
The Beer Garden, located on the corner of Bay and Whitaker streets, is housed in a single-story garden house that connects to the main building. The space features a kitchen, restrooms, a bar and seating for more than 200 patrons, plus three see-through garage doors that can be opened when the weather’s nice. The area around the Beer Garden is well-manicured with herbs, flowers, shrubs, trees and a trellis covered with Carolina jasmine and yellow blossoms.
Beer Garden patrons can enjoy the same great selection of house-brewed beer that’s available in the Moon River Brewing Company’s main building including The Bomb, a dry Irish-style stout; Wild Wacky Wit, an old-style Belgian wheat ale; and Slo-vannah, an American pale ale.
In addition to serving its signature award-winning beer, the Beer Garden also offers a limited menu from Moon River’s kitchen and a full bar that includes the brewery’s house-infused liquors. The Beer Garden even welcomes well-behaved dogs on leashes and provides them with doggie water bowls.
