What do a handmade silver skull bracelet, vintage Minolta camera and bucking unicorn sculpture have in common? They’re just some of the eclectic items you’ll find at Sandfly Market Place, a consignment/thrift/antique shop in Savannah’s popular Sandfly neighborhood.

Located in a former furniture showroom behind the Sandfly Five Oaks Shopping Center, the 7,000-square-foot store carries a variety of items from local consigners, including furniture, home décor, accessories, artwork, jewelry and collectibles.
The market has a nice selection of reasonably priced antiques, such as carved wooden desks, glass bottles, books and tableware. The store also carries a number of new, handmade items - from baby blankets and doll clothes to soaps and body scrubs.
But it’s the quirky finds that really give Sandfly Market Place its flavor. That vintage Minolta camera comes with a Heiland Tilt-a-Mite flash and funky strap. The skull bracelet is 57.9 grams of silver handcrafted into seven ominous human skulls. And the unicorn sculpture - well, you have to see it to really appreciate it. Other fascinating finds include a vintage copper fire extinguisher, a cast iron sundial, Princess Diana collectible plates and an antique baby carriage.
The Sandfly Market Place is open Tuesday through Saturday, so plan your shopping trip accordingly. Once you’ve loaded up your car with all your purchases, be sure to explore the other stores and restaurants in the area, drive down nearby Bluff Drive (one of the most breathtaking spots in the city) and take a walking tour of famed Wormsloe Plantation.
