For nearly a decade, Downtown shoppers have flocked to ShopSCAD, a retail store that features original work created by Savannah College of Art and Design students, alumni, faculty and staff. Thanks to an expansion and recent renovations, there are even more reasons to visit the eclectic Bull Street gift shop.
The interior improvements were made by Design Group, SCAD's award-winning, in-house interior design team, and include the addition of salon-inspired seating so that customers can comfortably meet with sales associates and custom fixtures that creatively display the store’s handmade wares. The improvements also included the addition of 800 square feet of merchandising space and a fresh, new color scheme throughout the interior.
ShopSCAD continues to feature a lovely array of goods, including paintings, sculpture, pottery, jewelry, accessories, handbags, home décor, apparel and more. From reasonably priced, whimsical items such as the adorable toothy fairy pouches crafted by alumna Shawna Smith to stunning, high-end jewelry like the citrine, green amethyst and sterling silver bracelet created by student Alex Hossick, you can’t leave ShopSCAD without finding something unique to bring back home.
If you can’t make it to ShopSCAD, be sure to visit the store’s website, which features all the same great merchandise as the Savannah store. The college also maintains a ShopSCAD store on its campus in Lacoste, France.
