If you're in the mood for a typical Southern meal, be sure to stop at Sisters, a family-owned restaurant specializing in traditional local cuisine. You won't find anything fancy, but you will find standard choices such as fried chicken, smothered pork chops, oxtails, friend shrimp and barbecued ribs accompanied by tasty side dishes. Some of the favorites include mac and cheese, candied yams, collard greens and lima beans. The price is right - especially the weekday luncheon special. Breakfast features pancakes, corn beef hash, smothered shrimp or chicken, hamburger steak and more. On weekends they offer an all-you-can-eat pancake feast.

- Southern: "The restaurant's Skidway Rd location is close to the famed Bonaventure Cemetery. When you're done with lunch, you may want to head over there to check out the historic gravesites, magnificent live oak trees and beautiful water views at the nearby cemetery."
- Best for Southern Because: It's not fancy, but you'll find tasty Southern treats here.

- Best for Homestyle Because: Oxtails, smothered pork chops, okra and tomatoes--It doesn't get any more home-style than Sisters, an eatery with three locations in Savannah.
- Best for Breakfast Because: Sisters opens at 6 a.m., earlier than most Savannah breakfast spots, and offers a nice selection of Southern favorites.
