Possibly haunted and definitely delicious, The Pirates' House first opened in 1753 as a tavern for boisterous buccaneers. Today, the once-infamous pirate haven is both a house museum and a celebrated restaurant offering scrumptious Southern specialties and a kid-friendly dining experience unlike any other. Young diners can transform into pint-sized pirates with pop-out hats, eye patches and mustaches, while enthusiastic pirates roam the restaurant's several dining rooms to entertain guests with comical quips and spooky stories. Those who are especially brave can peek into the restaurant's underground tunnels. Though the Pirates' House is a treat for kids, adults will enjoy the eatery's varied menu, which features everything from shrimp po' boys and grouper Florentine to slow cooked baby back ribs and honey pecan fried chicken.
