Housed in an 1856 Greek Revival structure in the Historic District, the SCAD Museum of Art is a contemporary art and design museum with an impressive permanent collection and a rotating selection of high-profile traveling exhibitions. The museum, run by the Savannah College of Art and Design, boasts 82,000 square feet of space that feature works from the college's permanent collection, including pieces by Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso, Robert Rauschenberg, Andy Warhol, Willem de Kooning, Annie Leibovitz and more. Originally founded in 2002, the museum underwent an extensive renovation and expansion in 2011 and today serves as both a learning laboratory for students and a premier destination for art enthusiasts near and far.
