Built in the mid-18th century for Francis Sorrel, a prominent Savannah ship merchant, the Sorrel Weed House is today considered one of the city's most haunted buildings. The Greek Revival/Regency-style mansion, which entertained the likes of Generals Robert E. Lee and William T. Sherman during the Civil War, was one of the first two buildings in Georgia to become a State landmark. Today the Sorrel Weed House offers several tours, including a historic house tour and haunted ghost tour. The house was featured in a Halloween episode of the Syfy network show Ghost Hunters and on HGTV's If Walls Could Talk.
