The designer behind Matalou at Home is one of the most well known, young upcoming fashion designers in Athens. She designs clothing and accessories with great attention to detail and is always exploring new ideas and applications. Her basement shop on Ipitou pedestrian street, Matalou at Home, is an alternative atelier where her work is exhibited.

Matalou at Home has been designing for twelve years, and some of their most popular items are leather wristlets, bags, purses, belts and laptop covers, all mainly in recycled leather and fabric. The designer pays special attention to quality, and many of her concepts are printed. Several items from her collection can be made to order.

Matalou at Home store also hosts creations by alternative Greek designers, children’s clothing, books, ceramics and clothing by Theia, Euangelia, Koukoutsi and Meet the Cat, just to mention a few.

Recently, Matalou at Home store has been hosting the permanent exhibition “It’s All, oh so Souvenir to Me," presented by Occhi Concept Store. The exhibit includes works by more than 60 Greek designers whose aim is to redefine the concept of souvenir, giving their personal interpretation and promoting new tendencies. Objects here serve various practical and decorative uses, inspired by Greece and based on different subjects.

The objects are designed with humor, memories and feelings and are inspired by history, civilization and mythology. The ongoing exhibition is a great success and has attracted the public, who appreciate this new and fresh approach to Greek souvenir.

Innovative souvenirs from Greek materials - which encompass the unique feeling of Greece - are interpreted by young artists, such as Georgina Skalidi, B612, Blemobill, Liana Papalexi and others. The exhibition will be presented also in other locations in the future.
