LA Trap in the neighborhood of Mets in Athens is a shop gallery created by designer Maria Polyxa, a.k.a Psarokoklao (fishbone in Greek). This spacious, cozy shop is the ideal place to exhibit her original, artistic creations, together with selected objects by other young designers. Maria is a very talented young working mum and her creations range from handmade dolls to christening projects and theatrical accessories, always with a playful attitude. Among her most successful series are the hand-sewn fabric owls in various sizes, the collection of romantic children’s clothes and the jewelry made from various natural materials found on the beach. All her decorative and fashion creations are made with humor, imagination and an unconventional approach.

Her recent collaboration with architect Vera Zefki has led to even wider applications of design in interior decoration and the creation of more collections for each season. The christening project is pure fairytale with handmade christening clothes, all featuring elaborate details and including all the necessary accessories for the celebration, created on a thematic concept chosen together with the parents and always personalized and custom made.

Fashion designer Ioli’s collection can also be viewed here, with her characteristic feminine retro style. LA Trap organizes craft courses, mainly in winter, for doll making, knitting, embroidery and crocheting and also imports selected handmade objects in limited editions and artistic aesthetic. All materials used are eco-friendly and up-cycled and many of the designers are working mums.
